Buket was born and raised in Izmir, Turkey. After earning a BA with High Honors in Philosophy from Bogazici University, she moved to New York City to pursue her passion for acting, earning an MFA from The Actors Studio Drama School.
In New York, Buket has performed in notable theatre productions, including House of Karen at Signature Theatre, Bee at HB Playwrights Theatre & HB Studio, and The Book of Liz at 3 Legged Dog. She has also originated roles, such as Marquette in Jason Lasky's Last Exit Before You're Off The Grid at the Secret Theatre. She wrote and directed her debut play, Habitat, which premiered Off-Off-Broadway.
Buket recently co-founded her own theatre company, Bonobo Tiyatro, in Istanbul. She translated and directed Bonobo's first production, Bright Ideas, and is currently assistant directing Serdar Bilis in a theatre project called Afife at the Zorlu Performing Arts Center.
