Buket was born and raised in İzmir, Turkey. She graduated with High Honors in Philosophy from Boğaziçi University before moving to New York City to pursue her passion for acting, earning an MFA from The Actors Studio Drama School.
In New York, she performed in acclaimed productions such as House of Karen at Signature Theatre, Bee at HB Playwrights Theatre & HB Studio, and The Book of Liz at 3 Legged Dog. As a writer and director, she made her Off-Off-Broadway debut with her original play, Habitat.
Now based in Istanbul, Buket founded Bonobo Tiyatro, where she translated and directed the company’s first production, Bright Ideas. Most recently, she worked as an assistant director to Serdar Biliş on Afife at the Zorlu Performing Arts Center.
